Week commencing 8th May
Church Funds Update
At the recent Annual Parochial Church Meeting the church annual accounts were presented.
Due to rising Parish Share (our contribution to the diocese for ministry and support), and despite an increase in giving by the congregation, the church is currently running a deficit of £21,000 a year.
Maintenance on the church buildings later this year will take most of what remains of the legacy fund which has supported the church in recent years.
Please pray for those trying to manage the finances in these difficult times. Please also reflect on your own giving. If you have not already joined the Planned Giving scheme, could you do so? A regular income lets us plan for the future.
And if you are a taxpayer please Gift Aid any donations as we can reclaim 25p in the £ on what you give - at no extra cost to you.
Do speak to the Churchwardens, Treasurer or Stewardship Secretary (Gordon, Yvonne, Michael or June) if you have any questions.
Our baptism families
Today we welcome the families and friends of Olivia Grace and Annabelle Rose Gurry and Amber Rhiannon Duggan, who are being baptised during the 10am service.
The Church Fête
Plenty for all the family to do at this year’s church fête, which opens at 1.30pm. There’s a family picnic in the vicarage gardens, so bring your own food and enjoy! There’s a bouncy castle, face painting, ‘beat the goalie’, a toy stall and sack racing.
Meanwhile, around the church, you will find a variety of stalls for gardeners and antique collectors. In addition we can offer you quality gifts, cakes and preserves, books, a glass stall - and even a handbag stall! To refresh the inner (wo)man, can we tempt you with a barbecue, perhaps followed by a cream tea?
And after that why not visit the bell tower or book a photograph session? Tickets available soon for the cream tea and also our traditional fish & chip supper.
Men are Invited
St Anne’s Ladies’ Group invites the men of the parish to their meeting on Thursday 24th May at 7.45pm, when the speaker will be Sharon Cross, Curator of Surrey Heath Museum, ‘Looking Back at Bagshot’.
Barbecue for all the Family
Come and join us for a relaxed family BBQ at St Anne's Church on Saturday 25th June at 4pm. Sausages, burgers, buns and salads will be provided at £5 per person.
Please bring your own refreshments and picnic blanket. Gazebos will be in place if the weather turns against us! See Pat & Sue for tickets.
