Summary PCC Meeting 10th June

The Church Centre has been decorated and next is the Vicarage.

The Church Centre radiator covers and thermostatic valves have been removed to see if that improves the hall temperature in winter.

We have decided not to have a stand at the Village Day..

Repairs to the War Memorial will not be ready for the WW1 concert and exhibition in July but should be completed by Remembrance Day..

The financial forecast for 2014 shows an increase in the deficit for the year. It was agreed that the Treasurer should draft a letter for the congregation and other supporters highlighting the situation.

Keeping the congregation and everyone interested in St Anne's informed of what is going on, in addition to the Newsletter and Magazine possibly a quarterly news-sheet, the use of social media and reviewing the style and content of the Parish magazine.

Next meeting 8th July 2014. If you  have any points you like to be considered at this meeting, or have any queries please contact any member of the PCC by the end of June.

New Vicar named

We are delighted to announce that the Reverend Andreas Sistig has been appointed  the new Vicar of Bagshot.

Andreas grew up in Germany and met and married Jenny in South Africa while on a training course. Andreas and Jenny were ordained into the Anglican Church of South Africa and both held ministry posts there before moving to Fleet where Andreas has been Associate Vicar since 2008. They have two school-age daughters.

Jenny is also an ordained priest, working in two part-time roles as a chaplain, and will be a non-stipendiary curate at St Anne's.
It is expected that Andreas will commence his ministry at St Anne's in early September.

The Interregnum

The Churchwardens have met with the Archdeacon and the Rural Dean to discuss the procedure for appointing a new incumbent, which is subject to the Benefices Measure 1986. Responsibility for running the parish throughout the Interregnum lies with the Sequestrators who are the Churchwardens and the Rural Dean.

The first step is to construct a Parish Profile and a Statement of Needs. A small group led by Helen Perry has been working to produce a draft document which will be discussed by the PCC, who will then meet informally with the Archdeacon to agree the final document and initiate the legal processes.  This will take place in February, following which a date will be set for the PCC to hold what is known as a Section 11 meeting when a Statement of Needs will be agreed and two lay members of the PCC will be appointed to represent it in the selection process. The PCC will also have to decide whether to ask the Patron, The Lord Chancellor, to consider advertising the vacancy. If this is agreed the post will be advertised in The Church Times.

Applications will be reviewed by the Bishop and the Archdeacon and, together with the parish representatives, they will draw up a shortlist for interview. The interviews will be considered in the parish by the Bishop and the Archdeacon and the parish representatives.

St Anne’s Men’s Group

There will be a meeting of the Men’s Group on Wednesday February 26th in the Church Centre at 7.30pm. Malcolm Henderson will give a talk on the Lightwater Spear. There will be a two-course meal - bring own drink. £8 per head.  Cheques made payable to St Anne’s Men’s Group.    Stan Oakes

Diary Date

Friday 7th March  is Women’s World Day of Prayer and it is the turn of St Anne’s to host the service. Watch this space for further details.

The Besom News

The shelves are looking empty again and we really need  the following: Tinned peas/carrots, cereal, coffee, tinned & instant potato, custard, individual fruit pots, 500gms sugar, small pasta sauces  & long-life semi skimmed milk.  We have plenty of pasta, rice, soup & baked beans.
